From Zero to Node Runner [Mainnet]

We want the Ratio1 Edge Node running to be knowledge-agnostic. Thus, we created this holistic article to help any user, no matter their experience level, run an edge node on the Ratio1 Protocol.

We will cover every step, from running a node to obtaining and linking a license that allows your node to join the Ratio1 Protocol.

Note: the node will shut down in 15 minutes unless an ND (License) is linked to it.

Complete the KYC process (Mainnet Specific)

Ratio1 is not only about innovation and decentralization; it is also about compliance. Therefore, participating in the purchase of NDs (licenses) and operating edge nodes within the protocol to receive rewards and invoices requires completing KYC/KYB verification on your wallet beforehand.

Here are the steps to complete your KYC/KYB:

Connect using the available wallet options, such as MetaMask.

go to Profile & KYC
register an email for your wallet. This email will be used for KYC/KYB status notifications, invoices for license purchases, and, if you have subscribed (which we strongly recommend), important protocol updates and node-running notifications.
after registering your email, confirm it from the verification email you receive.
select Individual or Company based on how you want to participate in the ecosystem and start KYC. The KYC or KYB process will begin according to your choice. Complete all the steps in the Sumsub form. Shortly after submission, your KYC/KYB will be approved if the information is correctly filled in. Otherwise, you will receive notifications about any issues that need to be corrected.

Get R1 tokens on Mainnet

On mainnet, users who wish to obtain NDs (Licenses) must first acquire R1 from our Buy R1 page or Uniswap (app.uniswap.org) the decentralized exchange that hosts the R1 liquidity pool, enabling swaps from USDC (stablecoin) to R1.

Steps for Buy R1 page:

Go to Buy R1 page
Select the payment token
Select the amounts
Sign the 2 transactions (Token approval & Swap)

Steps for Uniswap:

Go to USDC / R1 Pair - Link
Connect with MetaMask
Select the amounts
Sign the 2 transactions (Token approval & Swap)

Buy license/licenses

It does not matter whether you are on Testnet (testnet-app.ratio1.ai) and you are buying Test NDs or Mainnet (app.ratio1.ai) and buying mainnet NDs; the NDs (licenses) will be purchased from the Dashboard. There, you will be able to see all the details, including the current pricing tier and the remaining available NDs supply for each tier.

Use the Buy License button, select the quantity of licenses you want to buy and sign the 2 transactions:

Transaction 1 - Approve of token spending
Transaction 2 - Buy

Link license to node

The last step before your node actually becomes part of the Ratio1 protocol is linking a license to it.

Here are the steps:

go to Licenses
click on actions and select Link
fill in the eth_address of the node you want to link with this license and sign the linking transaction. Remember, the eth_address of your node was obtained using docker exec r1node get_node_info.
your node is now linked to your license and included in the protocol.

Claim Rewards

Rewards from the Proof of Availability, and soon from Proof of AI, will be available for claim after each epoch (24 hours). You can claim them daily or let them accumulate and claim them periodically.
